You have to have your identification and social security number with you to buy paper EE saving bonds at lower initial price. If you want to buy an electronic EE saving bond, you have to open up an account with the Treasury. Set up a Treasury Direct account online by using the link present in the available resources. Collect your personal information including your social security number, electronic banking information, and drivers license before you try to set up a Treasury Direct account. You will need this information while setting up the account. You can purchase electronic EE saving bonds at the par value. For example, if you want to buy a saving bond of worth 100 dollars, you have to pay 100 dollars. You will receive your EE saving bonds via e-mails. You cannot purchase electronic EE saving bonds of more than five thousand dollars. Buy EE saving bonds to secure your money and get interest over your investment. |
